Definition
  • Plaques are solid, elevated lesions > 1 cm in diameter.
    • When the lesion is < 1.0 cm. in diameter, it is called a papule.
Notes
  • If the lesion is flat (instead of raised (elevated)), it is a patch.
  • Papules or plaques (raised elevations) that are transient are called wheals
