What are the etiologies of Supraventricular tachycardia?
Iatrogenic Wolf-Parkinson white syndrome
What symptoms will the patient present with?
Palpitations Dizziness Shortness of breath Chest pain
How will it appear on an ECG?
Narrow QRS Absent P waves HR > 150/min
How is it treated?
If patient is unstable, synchronized electrical cardioversion If patient is stable, vagal maneuvers (Valsalva, carotid massage, or ALS) If patient is resistant, administer adenosine (If arrhythmia gets worse, think WPW) If patient is resistant, administer other AV-nodal blocking agents (CCBs or ?-blockers) if rhythm fails to convert
