Inhalation of foreign material or aspiration of food or oropharyngeal secretions that causes an infection in the lungs

Symptoms
Shortness of breath Cough Fever Dyspnea Wheezing Crackles Bronchospams Hypoxemia Foul-smelling sputum
Diagnostics
Chest x-ray CT of the chest ABG Gram stain and culture of aspirate of abscess
Treatment
Acute aspiration: airway management and respiratory support All patients: antibiotics if caused by an agent and supportive care
