Vesicle (aka Blister)
Definition
Bullae are circumscribed, elevated collections (pockets) of fluid within the skin that are > 1 cm in diameter.
Vesicles are < 1 cm.
Notes
Blister is the broadly encompassing term for both bullae and vesicles. Blisters contain fluid of any type: clear, serous, hemorrhagic, or purulent.
