juvenile idiopathic arthritis
- Formerly: juvenile rheumatoid arthritis (now a more broadly encompassing syndrome).
- Refers to a chronic inflammatory arthritis lasting longer than 6 weeks in a child that is younger than 16 years old.
- Represents a heterogenous group of disorders, including:
- oligoarthritis
- polyarthritis: rheumatoid factor (RF) positive or negative
- systemic arthritis
- psoriatic arthritis
- enthesitis-related arthritis
