Cerebellitis (child)

Cerebellitis (aka acute cerebellitis) classically occurs in children but can occur in adults and most often follows a viral infection (less often bacterial). It manifests with classic cerebellar signs of ataxia, nystagmus, incoordination. Serial MRIs can demonstrate reversible findings of the cerebellar inflammation.
