Schizencephaly
* Schizencephaly is a rare developmental birth anomaly that manifests with slits (clefts) in the cerebral hemispheres.
Children born with schizencephaly are prone to seizures, cognitive delays (when it is bilateral), and hemiparesis/hemiplegia (paralysis/weakness).
