Flaviviridae

Flaviviridae
Their envelope is derived from the host's endoplasmic reticulum.
The flavivirus genus comprises several arboviruses that produce infections ranging from asymptomatic to severe.
Dengue virus causes dengue fever. Dengue fever is self-limiting, with high fever, headache, rash, and significant pain (the terrible pain lends dengue fever its nickname, "breakbone fever").
More serious dengue viral infection is characterized by dengue hemorrhagic fever and/or dengue hemorrhagic shock, which is associated with thrombocytopenia, hypotension, and plasma leakage.
Yellow fever virus causes yellow fever, which is characterized by a self-limiting fever and myalgia. Serious cases of yellow fever are characterized by hemorrhagic fever and/or hepatitis. It's helpful to know that yellow fever derives its name from its association with hepatitis and jaundice.
Yellow fever vaccine can prevent infection.
Zika virus is associated with fever, pain, and headaches; conjunctivitis and rash are also reported. Can trigger Gullian-Barr syndrome.
Infection during pregnancy can lead to stillbirth or pre-term birth.
Congenital Zika Syndrome is characterized by microcephaly.
Mosquito-borne Flaviviruses that cause encephalitis: Japanese flavivirus West Nile virus (which is also associated with hepatitis) St. Louis flavivirus Russian-spring-summer virus (transmitted by ticks) Powassan virus (transmitted by ticks)
