Sagittal plane
- Also called Median Plane
- Vertical plane that divides body into right and left sides.
Coronal Plane
- Also called Frontal Plane.
- Vertical plane that divides body into anterior and posterior.
- Corona means "Crown" - Think of a crown that divides the head into front and back.
Transverse plane
- Also called Cross-Sectional Plane or Horizontal Plane.
- Horizontal plane that divides body into superior and inferior divisions.
