Extensor digitorum brevis:
- Originates on the superolateral surface of the calcaneus
- Inserts at the extensor hoods, which arise on the dorsal surfaces of the toes
- Extends toes 2-4.
- Originates on the dorsal surface of the calcaneus
- Inserts at the base of the distal phalanx of the great toe
- Extends the great toe.
